Velocity Owners and Builders Association (VOBA)

Welcome Velocity Enthusiasts

The Velocity Owners and Builders Association (VOBA) is dedicated to the safe building and flying of Velocity Aircraft. VOBA will promote the interests of Velocity owners and builders and represent our type of aircraft in the larger aviation community.

VOBA is a member of the Type Club Coalition (TCC). The TCC was started by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) for the purpose of sharing information among the various aircraft-specific organizations.

The Velocity Owners and Builders Association encourages you to check out all useful sources of information on Velocity Aircraft, such as the factory's web site, the Velocity Wiki, the Facebook group, and the Reflector archive.

Nose wheel steering . . . One of the few things I have disliked about Velocity aircraft is steering with differential braking. . . . I have been thinking about how to add nose wheel steering for a couple of years and have devised and rejected several different approaches. I finally settled on . . .

Fuel Tank Header Clearance & Fuel Tank Shutoff Valves . . .  I'm continuing to work on building the header tank now that the missing hard points came from the factory. While test fitting the tank I noticed that the top of the tank is almost flush with the top of the landing gear bulkhead. That means that the two fuel tank fittings and the vent fitting on the back of the tank won't . . .

Marker Beacon . . . Still working on the panel layout and it occurred to me that I have not considered installing a marker beacon. In Today’s GPS world, is a marker beacon required for . . . .

Flying your Velocity into Oshkosh

Twenty-year Oshkosh veteran and 2-time Velocity builder, Mark Riley shows us everything a Velocity owner needs to know about the greatest airshow on earth. He covers everything: trip planning, the arrival procedure, parking, and departing. You'll learn the keys to parking on "Velocity Row" and how to avoid (the usually mandatory) taxiing in the grass.

Flying your Velocity into the world's biggest airshow is an experience you will always remember, but getting there is just half the fun. With your plane on the showgrounds, you'll have hundreds of questions about your Velocity from pilots, builders, and dreamers. And AirVenture Oshkosh is where the largest gathering of Velocity enthusiasts happens each year at the Velocity dinner.

We are expecting a record turnout of Velocities this year. Plan to fly into Oshkosh and be a part of this historic event!
